So the last few weeks have been challenging to say the least! First we had flooding, now we have Covid-19 and the huge impacts that's having on day to day life for all of us.
Right now, many of us feel anxious and worried.
People need tools that will help them feel okay with all of this uncertainty.
You might be aware that we recently released a new version of WorryTree which included a new, premium feature WorryTree Plus.
But things didn't quite go to plan. For some people it was business as usual, but for many they suddenly found themselves unable to save worries, unable to edit past worries and a small number of users couldn't even record a worry properly.
I still don't fully understand what caused the massive glitches within the app.
As the 1* reviews, negative feedback and complaints rolled in, I wanted to run away.
I wanted to tear WorryTree down from the App Store and Google Play, hold my hands up and say I'm sorry, it's rubbish, it was a stupid idea anyway.
I'm grateful that I didn't. Something made made me stick with it even when I wanted to hide.
Working on something that's out of your comfort zone when you live with anxiety is like trying to roll treacle up a hill. Not only is the work difficult anyway, but you're constantly battling your own doubts and negative thoughts at the same time. The inner critic that just wants you to get right back into your comfort zone, thank you very much.
Working alongside my developer, we think we've dealt with all of the gremlins now and we're in the process of releasing an updated version, version 2.0.27 which we think is working okay. It'll roll out as an update to you over the next few days.
However, I do need your help.
I have a brilliant band of beta testers who have been amazing. But those beta testers had no problems with the latest version of the app, and yet when it was released, there were lots of users experiencing difficulties.
So I need you to take a moment, when you next update your app, to check how it's working, and if there's anything not right, then I need you to email me direct at hello@worry-tree.com with the device you're using and the problem you're having. That way I can share that information with my developer and we can try to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
Leaving a negative review is fine, I know that we'll never please everybody and that WorryTree will not be the right app for some people. But I can't make changes following a negative review. I can make changes with a bit of detail in an email and that enables us to make it better for other people who rely on it too.
Together, we can keep WorryTree live and working during this time when we need tools like this the most.
Thank you,
Louise x
